From rights to reality: Protecting breastfeeding in workplaces and childcare
Do we really have time to live healthy lifestyles?  ‘From Rights to Reality’ will discuss new research on best practice support for breastfeeding in workplaces and childcare settings, including the effects of time stress on health. Supported by an Australian National University (ANU) Gender Institute grant and presented by the Australian Centre for Economic Research on Health (ACERH), the forum will focus on how women’s and children’s human rights translate into policies and practices on breastfeeding support in Australia’s workplaces and childcare, including at the ANU.

As well as hearing from researchers at ANU, Flinders University, UNSW, QUT and ABA on time use, health and breastfeeding, a panel of policy experts will discuss how ACT and national government policies including the Australian National Breastfeeding Strategy and the ACT Breastfeeding Strategic Framework might bring human rights protocols into reality for new mothers and their young children.

Access: The forum is free and open to the public, but places are limited. Advance registration is required via Eventbrite.
