Wednesday 11 March 2026

To celebrate International Women's Day the ANU Agrifood Innovation Institute, in collaboration with the Future Crops Centre and the ANU Gender Institute, hosted a fantastic event featuring keynotes by Brondwen MacLean and Lyndall Strazdins.

Following the opening sessions, participants engaged in group sessions, facilitated to encourage self-reflection and lively discussions.

Some of the key themes examined included:

  • the challenges and opportunities associated with career growth;
  • systemic barriers;
  • as well the expectations and responsibilities that leadership have to encourage and enable real culture change in a world where non-traditional career opportunities have grown, but the systems around us need to evolve a little more.

In true spirit of International Women's Day 2026, the room was buzzing with collective experiences and connection points that everyone could relate to, regardless of their gender, age, role or experience.

Our thanks to all who attended and contributed to this event.
