Generation Equality Forum Australia

In March and June 2021, UN Women is convening the Generation Equality Forum (GEF), co-hosted by the governments of Mexico and France. This landmark Forum brings together global partners, activists and allies to define and commit to concrete actions that will accelerate gender equality.

Focussing on the coalition theme of Economic Justice and Rights, you will hear from representatives from the Mexican and French Governments, sharing their insights from the GEF in Mexico and plans for the forthcoming GEF in Paris. Our panel of experts will highlight what is working, and how we build new economic and social systems that include, and work, for everyone.

Speakers:

  • Eduardo Martínez Curiel, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Mexico
  • Julie Le Saos, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of France
  • Martha Delgado Peralta, Undersecretariat for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights, Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico
  • Delphine O, Ambassador, Secretary General of the Generation Equality Forum 2021, France
  • Julie-Ann Guivarra, Australian Ambassador to Gender Equality
  • Sharon Bhagwan-Rolls, member of the Generation Equality Forum Civil Society
Advisory Group and a taskforce member of the Women Peace and Security Humanitarian Action Compact
  • Bettina Baldeschi, CEO, International Women’s Development Agency
  • Roslyn Dundas, Advocacy Manager, CARE
Hear from the Governments of Mexico and France about why they are hosting, what was achieved in Mexico City – and the aspirations for Paris
Learn about the invaluable contributions of civil society to GEF, and how they are delivering transformative change, with a focus on the Action Coalition on Economic Justice and Rights
Engage in a dialogue about the role diverse stakeholders can play, Australia’s contributions to the gender equality agenda, and actions each of us can take every day to #ActforEqual
