Call for Nominations for the IORA Early Career Professionals Network Steering Committee
DFAT is welcoming nominations (see forms below) from Australian universities and research institutions for an Early Career Professional to represent Australia at the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Early Career Professionals (ECP) Network Steering Committee.
The Indian Ocean Rim Association Academic Group (IORAG) is establishing an Early Career Professionals (ECP) Network for the Indian Ocean region to create a platform to build regional networks, enhance dialogue and foster information sharing whilst expanding the outreach of IORA activities. The representative will be required to attend 2-4 virtual annual meetings per year and assist with the development of the network and work plan. This is a great opportunity for an ECP to develop regional networks across the Indian Ocean region and deepen their understanding of the region.
Please refer to the Factsheet and IORAG ECP Network’s Terms of Reference for further information on the role, responsibilities and vision of the committee. The nomination form attached must be completed to be valid.
Please also note there are two-steps to this nomination process: (1) Identifying Australia’s candidate and (2) The IORA ECP Network Selection Committee reviewing IORA Member States’ nominations and selecting successful candidates. The Australian nominee is therefore not guaranteed a position on the Steering Committee.
Eligibility:
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Must be under 37 years of age
- Employed at an Australian university/research institute and working in academia/research on an IORA Priority Area or Cross-Cutting Issue discipline
- 3-5 years since completion of last qualification
- An interest in the Indian Ocean region
Nominations close at 1700 (AEST) on Wednesday 23 October 2024. Please ensure nomination forms are completed and submitted by this time to iora@dfat.gov.au.
