Women, peace and security workshop

Applications are invited to attend a workshop on women, peace and security. The event will focus on Australia’s engagement with UN Security Council Resolution 1325, which affirms women’s role in the prevention and resolution of conflicts, through the National Action Plan for Women, Peace and Security (WPS), and the broader WPS agenda.

Attendance is free to students and members of the public but places are limited.

The Australian National Committee for UN Women The Australian National Committee for UN Women is one of 18 global National Committees for UN Women. It was established in 1989 as an Australian NGO and has its headquarters in the federal capital, Canberra. Its role is to raise funds to support UN Women’s projects and programs; challenge attitudes which perpetuate gender inequality in Australia and the region; and engage with the Australian Government to raise awareness of the work of UN Women.
