White Ribbon Day

25th November is White Ribbon Day – Australia’s only national, male-led Campaign to end men’s violence against women. This important initiative reminds us that we all have a role to increase our awareness of this serious issue and to take action to eliminate all forms of domestic violence. There are many ACT White Ribbon events being held, including a lunchtime White Ribbon Day Walk/Run Bridge to Bridge. Participants from ANU will leave from Union Court at 11:40 am Wednesday, 25 November heading to Kings Park (near the Carillion) to begin the walk with other participants from the Defence Forces and other government agencies at 12.30pm.

The ANU contingent will be led by our White Ribbon Ambassador and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience), Professor Richard Baker.

As we reflect on White Ribbon Day, we need to remember that violence occurs in many different forms and different relationships. A guide to services and contacts is available if you or anyone you know may be experiencing any issues of violence.
