Violence against women: Solutions for the future - a One Billion Rising V Day event

One Billion Rising is a global campaign that invites one billion women and those who love them to demand an end to the violence. ANU supports this goal and is proud to host this panel discussion from to explore solutions to the unacceptable statistics surrounding violence against women.

Discussion facillitator: Professor Margaret Jolley

Panel members:

  • Ms Mirjana Wilson - Executive Director of the Domestic Violence Crisis Service
  • The Hon. Justice Richard Refshauge - Supreme Court ACT
  • Mr Rudi Lammers - ACT Chief Police Officer
  • Ms Robyn Martin - Manager, Beryl Women Inc. (provider of support and safe housing to women and children escaping domestic/family violence)

This free and open to the public event is organised by ANU Human Resources in collaboration with many invaluable local, national and international anti-violence organisations including the Domestic Violence Crisis Service, White Ribbon, Rape Crisis Centre and UN Women, Victims Support at the AFP, the YWCA, Womens Centre for Health Matters and Amnesty.
