The Trials of Spring - film screening

The Young Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom presents a film screening of The Trials of Spring, a series of short films of women’s stories from the front lines of the Arab Spring.



From the team behind the award winning documentary Pray the Devil Back to Hell comes The Trials of Spring, a major documentary event that chronicles of the stories of nine women who played central roles in the Arab Spring uprisings and their aftermaths in Syria, Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Bahrain and Yemen. The film screening will include six gripping short films, which were first shown at the 2015 Commission on the Status of Women at an event which booked out before CSW even began.

The film screening will be followed by a talk by Professor Hilary Charlesworth, Professor and Director of the Centre for International Governance and Justice in the Regulatory Institutions Network at ANU, and member of the Women, Peace and Security academic collective.
