Tour the particle accelerator with Professor Mahananda Dasgupta

Meet our award winning ANU nuclear physicists Professor Mahananda Dasgupta, the inaugural Georgina Sweet Laureate Fellow, who will take us on a tour of this large facility at the Department of Nuclear Physics and tell us about her work with the accelerator.

Nanda is an international leader in accelerator-based nuclear fusion and fission. She has played a key role in developing innovative experimental techniques and instrumentation to make measurements with unprecedented sensitivity. These measurements revealed the enormous effects of quantum properties of nuclei on fusion of light nuclei, and fusion of heavy nuclei that create new superheavy elements. Her research has resulted in a fundamental change in the current understanding of these processes.
