Integrated Women's Network’s (IWN) fourth "Let’s Talk" event

WHO CAN ATTEND: Open to all especially parents of teenagers; free

This talk by Dr Prathiba Nagabhushan on ‘The Teenage Brain: What We Need to Know’ will explore the functioning of the teenage brain and the various factors that affect their motivation and engagement towards school work followed by Q&A.

Dr Prathiba Nagabhushan has been in close association with teenagers for more than three decades. As a teacher and lecturer, she has always been interested in examining how the teen brain works and how developmental changes and the environment impact on teenagers’ thoughts and behaviours. Prathiba’s extensive and in-depth inquiry into the motivational cognitions and behaviours of adolescents led her to receive a Doctorate degree from the Australian National University and an international award for the ‘Best Research Paper’ at the International Conference on Cognitive & Behavioural Psychology recently. She has presented her research at a number of International Conferences held in many countries, and has applied her findings to other educational settings such as, medical and engineering education.
