Social inclusion: thinking all round

The Social Inclusion Thinking All Round Youth Think Tank will provide young people aged between 12 to 25 years, the chance to come to together and discuss the concept of social inclusion over the four following focus areas:

* Gender and Sexual Diversity: this topic will focus how sexually diverse individuals and groups within our community may or may not feel included and what we can do to ensure that Canberra continues to be an inclusive community.

This Think Tank will be facilitated by Heidi Yates in partnership with the Youth Advisory Council.

* Cultural Cohesion: this topic will look at the elements that create a culturally cohesive community and how we can continue to live together safely.

This Think Tank will be facilitated by Kirk Zwangobani

* Youthism: this topic will explore how young people experience discrimination based on being young and how we can equip our community to recognise that all young people have positive elements to contribute.

This Think Tank will be facilitated by Alasdair Roy.

* Inclusive Environments: this think tank will look at how young people whether in groups or their own are perceived when in public spaces and what can be done to ensure that Canberra is an inclusive and youth friendly city.

This Think Tank will be facilitated by the ACT Youth Coalition.

Each Think Tank will be provided the opportunity in the afternoon session to provide their recommendations directly to the Minister for Youth Affairs and Social Inclusion, Yvette Berry.

Please be sure to register by Wednesday 17 August 2016 and spread the word, this is a great chance for all young people to share their thoughts and have their voices heard.
