She leads workshop: Setting and meeting goals

YWCA Canberra’s She Leads Workshops form part of our women’s leadership pathway, and provide members with the opportunity to hone their leadership skills through a series of targeted professional development workshops.

In this creative and fun workshop, you will discover how to set and meet goals for your personal and professional life.

The workshop is facilitated by Mikaela Danvers, the founder of The Makers Co, the owner of Danvers Creative, and a design studio manager and lecturer at the University of Canberra. Utilising her wealth of creative, organisational, and career experience, Mikaela will work with attendees to map their goals and offer traditional and creative solutions to reach their next target, no matter how big or small.

Getting anywhere without a map can be tricky if you've never been to that place before, but even harder when you don't even know where it is you're going. This is true in life, too. If you don't have any idea of where you'd like to be in your career in 5 years time, how can you possibly take the steps to make it happen?

In this workshop we go through a total planning system, from vision boards (to work out what your ideal destination is), all the way through to daily action steps. We work our way back from where you want to end up and set yearly intentions, quarterly goals, monthly priorities and weekly tasks. We talk about why vision boards work (with help from a nifty thing in our brains called the Reticular Activating System), and spend some creative time putting one together!

*Please bring whatever medium you like working with best to create your vision board (magazines to cut out, ipad/laptop to create a pinterest board, pen and paper, etc).
