She Leads In-Conversation events provide Canberrans with the opportunity to hear from women leaders from different backgrounds and industries, in a conversational format, followed by a live Q&A session, book signing, and networking.

In May, join YWCA Canberra for an evening with Dr Anne Summers AO, in conversation with Dr Skye Saunders.

Dr Summers is a best-selling author, journalist and thought-leader with a long career in politics, the media, business and the non-government sector in Australia, Europe and the United States.  She has been an outspoken champion of equality for women since the 1970s.

In this conversation, hear from Dr Summers about her experiences as a feminist advocate and woman in leadership negotiating significant cultural changes in Australia and overseas.

About the facilitator:

Dr Skye Saunders is a legal academic from the Australian National University and is an advocate for issues of gender and law in Australia. With a particular interest in sex discrimination in rural communities, she is the author of the book, Whispers from the Bush – The Workplace Sexual Harassment of Australian Rural Women. In collaboration with the Victorian Womens’ Trust, Skye has just recently finished making a short film based on Whispers from the Bush called ‘Grace Under Fire’. Skye is also the Acting Director of the Australian National University’s professional legal education programs and has formerly practised as a solicitor in the area of Employment/ Discrimination Law in Canberra. She is a regular speaker at conferences and events, both in Australia and internationally.
