Searching for identity in a multicultural world

Issues like gender equality are intertwined and intrinsically connected to the notion of identity and culture. Thus any discussions on gender must incorporate culture and identity. What does it mean to be a mean or a woman for that matter how do issues like intersectionality affect us, in an increasingly multicultural world?

This workshop will explore these notions and how identity and society work together to play a role in the experiences of individuals.

This workshop will discuss gender from multiple perspectives with fascinating guest speakers. Speakers include eminent experts from ANU and the University of Canberra among others. The workshop will include a segment called 'Courageous Conversations', where guest speakers will share their personal experiences. This will be followed by a Q&A panel session.

The Q&A session will be led by 5 chosen panel members, experts in their respective fields and the panel moderator will facilitate discussions with audience members. Our panellists are from the following areas:

  • Legal
  • Police
  • Policy Analysis
  • Men's Organisation
  • Women's Organisation
