Scholarships: Gender and Water

Tapping the Turn is a conference on water’s social dimensions inspired by a growing interest in more effectively combining scientific research and humanities and social sciences research in water research, policy and program development.

A key element of the conference program is a gender and water workshop.

The ANU Gender Institute has provided funds for a number of scholarships for postgraduate students researching gender and water to attend the Gender and Water workshop. The scholarship does not allow successful candidates entry to any other Tapping the Turn sessions, workshops or events.

Facilitated by Dr Lahiri-Dutt (Resource Management in the Asia Pacific Program – Research School of the Asia-Pacific), this workshop will explore approaches to assessing gender equity in the water sector and showcase how water technologies have mediate women's interactions with water reforms in Zambia. Conference keynote speaker, Prof. Margaret Zwarteveen, will also participate in this workshop.

Application Process: Submit a short (less than 250 words) outline of what you hope to gain, and what you could contribute, as a participant of the Gender and Water workshop. Please also include your contact details, course of study, institution and research area.

Submit your outline as an email attachment to sc@tappingtheturn.org
