'The Relevance of Feminism for Lawyers Today'

The Gender Institute welcomes law students and others interested to a panel, 'The Relevance of Feminism for Lawyers Today '. Our speakers will reflect on what feminism has offered them in their experience as lawyers, and what it offersfor lawyers today. Professor Lucie White, Louis A. Horvitz Professor of Lawfrom Harvard Law School, brings her expertise from lawyering and teaching inthe United States and in Africa. The other speakers have all held variouspositions as corporate, administrative and pro bono lawyers, and some continueto maintain this experience along with their role as legal academics. Come along with your questions.

  • Professor Lucie White, Louis A. Horvitz Professor of Law from Harvard Law School
  • Anne MacDuff, PhD scholar of law, philosophy and education
  • Dr Wayne Morgan, teacher and practitioner on discrimination and UN Human Rights Committee cases
  • A/Professor Simon Rice OAM, Director, Law Reform & Social Justice
  • Professor Peta Spender, Professor of Law at the ANU College of Law and a Presidential Member of the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal (ACAT).
