Pictures from my memory - book launch

Elizabeth Ellis, an ARC Discovery Indigenous Fellow at the ANU School of Literature Languages and Linguistics, has recently published her autobiography Pictures from my memory: my story as a Ngaatjatjarra woman. Elizabeth is a Ngaatjatjarra educator, interpreter, and linguist from the Ngaanyatjarra region of Western Australia. In this rich and compelling account Elizabeth traces from the first contact between her family and White Australians to her experiences of being part of both her aboriginal community and the western world. The book is preceded by an introduction and followed by an anthropological overview of Ngaatjatjarra culture by anthropologist Laurent Dousset.

The book will be launched Dr Inge Kral, Researcher in Linguistic Anthropology, ARC Centre of Excellence for the Dynamics of Language. This event will include refreshments and book signing. An event invite is attached below.
