One Billion Rising at ANU: V Day 2014

An opportunity to stand and unite against the unacceptable statistics of violence against women.

One Billion Rising is a global campaign that invites one billion women and those who love them to demand an end to the violence. ANU supports this goal and is proud to host the event.

The one hour lunchtime event will include speakers, dancing and performances from local community groups including "Hit 'n Miss", a Canberra based all female drumming group.

This event is organised by ANU - Human Resources in collaboration with invaluable anti-violence organisations including the Domestic Violence Crisis Centre, White Ribbon, Rape Crisis Centre and UN Women, Victims Support at the AFP, the YWCA, Womens Centre for Health Matters and Amnesty.

For information on guest speakers and entertianment and to register your support go to: onebillion.org

There will also be a public panel and discussion forum “Violence against women: Solutions for the future” at 4.30pm on this day. Details here.
