Masterclass for HDR students with Professor Nivedita Menon

Professor Nivedita Menon is a leading political scientist, feminist and public intellectual whose work has had a profound impact on questions of gender, nationalism and politics of identity. Details of her work may be found here and here.

This masterclass would be of interest to students of Gender, Law, Political Science, History Anthropology and South Asia. The prerequisite for attending the masterclass is to read Menon’s recent essay on the Mahmood Farooqi Rape Case and changes in rape laws. The essay along with two discussion pieces will be provided upon registration. In the masterclass, students will discuss Menon’s work in relation to their own projects and receive feedback from Professor Menon. 

As we have limited places, we ask of students to register by 5 November 2016 by sending an email to Meera Ashar (meera.ashar@anu.edu.au) with the following information:  

1). Name and affiliation (discipline, school, department)

2). Title of Thesis, (mention if this is an MA or PhD)

3). Abstract of no more than 200 words
