Housing fora for women

The Women’s Centre for Health Matters invites women to share their thoughts and concerns about housing in the ACT.

They are holding two fora: on Wednesday 13 September 2017 at Pearce Community Centre, 12pm til 2pm (RSVP by Monday 11 September) & Tuesday 19 September 2017 at Woden Seniors Centre, 6:30-8:30pm (RSVP by Friday 15 September)

They want to hear from women about issues such as…
  • Is their housing suitable for their/their family’s needs?
  • What do they sacrifice to pay for higher rent/mortgage payments?
  • Are they worried that they won’t able to afford the housing they need in the future?
  • What kind of housing do they need – location, size and type of housing, owning/renting, access to support services, energy costs etc.

The information women provide will be included in our submission to the ACT Legislative Assembly inquiry into housing in the ACT, and in our ongoing advocacy on the socio-economic determinants of women’s health.

Women who would like to be involved can email their RSVP or phone 6290 2166.
