Global to Local: Preventing men’s violence against women – research, policy and practice in one space

White Ribbon International Conference 2013 Sydney.

The theme, Global to Local: Preventing Men’s Violence against Women – Research, Policy and Practice in One Space, focuses attention on what is a shattering issue in our society that results in devastating costs to individuals, our communities and the nation.

White Ribbon Australia is celebrating the 10th anniversary of driving the largest male-led national campaign to end violence against women.

In recognition of this milestone, White Ribbon Australia is proudly hosting its first international conference featuring key researchers, practitioners, policy makers and activists, from both national and international settings, to showcase research, policies and programs that work to change men’s attitudes and behaviours that perpetuate violence.

The conference will:

  • Showcase national and international research, policies and programs working to change men’s attitudes and behaviours;
  • Highlight the importance of using new social policy initiatives and campaigns to prevent men’s violence against women;
  • Encourage dialogue between policy makers, government advisers, practitioners, academics and interested others on primary prevention strategies to eliminate violence against women.
