Girl Rising: film screening and panel discussion

Educate girls. Change the World.

An event celebrating the International Day of the Girl Child.

This film screening is FREE and open to the public and will include a panel discussion with Dr Victoria Mason (Politics and International Relations, ANU) and Dr Fiona Jenkins (Philosophy, ANU and Convener, ANU Gender Institute).

Girl Rising: Around the world, millions of girls face barriers to education that boys do not. And yet, when you educate a girl you can break cycles of poverty in just one generation. Girl Rising is a groundbreaking film that has already been seen by millions. It’s also a movement for girls’ education we are proud to support. Find out how educating girls can change the world -and learn how you can make a difference.

Girl Rising is supporting thousands of International Day of the Girl events around the world.

This event is brought to you by One Girl and the ANU Gender Institute.

Please distribute the attached flyer amongst your networks.

One Girl is a Melbourne based non-governmental organisation and works in Sierra Leone, West Africa to give girls access to education through their Back To School program.
