Gender and The Twelfth National Labour History Conference

In this Twelfth biennial Labour Conference, 15-17, September 2011, Manning Clark Centre, Australian National University there is almost an even divide between men and women as presenters and nearly a third of the papers are by and about women. Feminist labour history has been very strong in Australia- the six 'Women and Labour¹ conferences from 1978 to 1998 attest to this. The presentations at this conference indicate the extent of 'mainstreaming¹ of gender history within labour history.

Gender Institute members are invited to the whole conference, but people interested in gender could join Stream One on Saturday 17 September for the daily rate- morning and afternoon tea and lunch with the 'show bag' containing the pre-conference book of papers:
