Experience EndoWomanArt - Photography fashion and fun

What does pain look like? How can you show someone how your pain feels? What are the issues when someone lives with a chronic illness? These questions motivate Margaret Kalms’ innovative photoart.

An estimated 1 in 10 women have endometriosis, an estimated 500,000 in Australia, most of whom suffer debilitating, chronic pain which has huge impacts on their lives, costing $7.7 billion in medical costs and lost productivity.

Experience EndoWomanArt will have an arts focus with a showing of Margaret’s photoart, a fashion parade of Margaret’s designs, a film of a dance called RED by Liz Lea, a talk by Melissa Parker, key researcher at Canberra Endometriosis Centre, a talk by an arts and acupuncture therapist, and a woman talking about her experiences of living with endometriosis and how she has collaborated with Margaret in her photoart.

Local businesses have been very generous in supporting this event. There will be an auction of gift vouchers and products donated by local businesses. Come and grab a bargain for a good cause!

Tickets available online.
