Eat, drink and be literary with Julia Baird & Alex Sloan

ANU/THE CANBERRA TIMES MEET THE AUTHOR

Julia Baird will be in conversation with Alex Sloan on Julia's acclaimed biography Victoria The Queen: An Intimate Biography of the Woman Who Changed the World, a fascinating, provocative and authoritative biography from one of Australia's most admired and respected journalists and commentators.

Julia Baird, building upon new archival research from the Royal Archives at Windsor, examines what it was it like to reign over the world's greatest empire as queen, but in an age when women were supposed to be submissive, supportive and subservient. Victoria: The Queen is a stunning new portrait of the "real" Victoria behind the myth-a story of love and heartbreak, of devotion and grief, of strength and resilience.
