Celebrate international women's day and nominate a champion

You are invited to attend the annual ANU International Women’s Day celebration. This event is an opportunity to network, celebrate women and recognise their contribution to the U niversity.

Guest speaker will be ANU Professor Hilary Charlesworth, Director of the Centre for International Governance and Justice and ARC Laureate.

This is an ANU staff only event.

Nominations

As part of the International Womens Day Celebration we will take this opportunity to acknowledge our gender champions within ANU. Winners will be announced on the day and awards will be presented.

If your colleague has been a committed supporter of gender equity or has worked to support and mentor women to reach their potential, we encourage you to nominate that person by emailing Kelly Johnson by Friday 1 March 2013. In doing so, please provide the person’s name, his or her position at ANU and briefly explain why you think they should be recognised. Staff that you should consider for nomination could include:

  • Men and women that have raised the profile of women and or spoken out for women’s issues
  • Men and women that have acted as a mentor or coach for women at ANU to help their colleagues succeed in their career aspirations
  • Men and women that have supported our post graduate women to achieve their aspirations (note that there will also be a PARSA voted award as nominated by the post graduate students)
  • Quiet achievers – women at ANU that are working behind the scene to make sure others can shine

RSVP/Award nominations:  By Friday 1 March 2012 to Kelly Johnson.
