CARE Australia 2018 gender and diversity month

CARE Australia 2018 Gender and Diversity month

In March 2018 CARE Australia will be hosting speakers to celebrate Gender and Diversity month in our offices in Lyneham, Canberra and would like to extend an invitation to interested members of the community.

CARE Australia is an NGO that works around the globe to save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice. We put women and girls at the centre of our work because we know that we cannot overcome poverty until all people have equal rights and opportunities.

Gender and Diversity month aims to celebrate and raise awareness of gender and diversity within the workplace and broader community. The month long celebrations will reinforce CARE’s organisational commitment to diversity and gender equality in our operations and programs, and highlight how a gender equitable and diverse work force and community positively contribute towards achieving lasting social change. Speakers will be from a range of backgrounds and will address diverse themes including gender, disability, Indigenous affairs, human rights, LGBTIQ, intersectionality the, migrant and refugee experience and many other topics.

The following talks will be held at the CARE Australia office, 243 Northbourne Avenue, Lyneham:
Scarlett Alliance, Thursday 15th March 2pm - 3pm
Australian Afghan Institute, Wednesday 21st March 12 - 1pm
