The focus of this masterclass will be on gender, disasters and development - drawing on Sarah’s 2013 book and more recent articles Women, girls and disasters – A Review for DFID and Engendering development and disasters.

Dr Sarah Bradshaw is Head of the School of Law at Middlesex University. She works in the field of gender and development, with a focus on women's rights and gender and disaster response, and is the author of Gender, Development and Disasters (Edward Elgar, 2013). Dr Bradshaw was living in Nicaragua when Hurricane Mitch struck in 1998, and during the relief and reconstruction phase, worked with the Civil Coordinator for Emergency and Reconstruction.
This masterclass is co-hosted by the Gender Institute and the Poverty and Inequality Research Centre at the Crawford School of Public Policy
