Beyond Crisis: Canberra professionals making safer choices easier for victims of domestic violence

You are invited to a local initiative that has been developed to assist Canberra victims of domestic violence make safer choices.  As you are aware, domestic violence is an ‘unacceptably high’ issue for Australia that cannot be addressed by community services and government alone; business and industry play a vital role in finding opportunities and solutions.

Deloitte, along with EY, PWC, KPMG and Protiviti, are working closely with the Domestic Violence Crisis Service and the Women’s Centre for Health Matters to facilitate forums with key industry players on issues such as housing, legal system, finance, insurance, child care and pets.

Deloitte is hosting the next workshop on accessing the legal system and as a key stakeholder and influencer of change; we would be delighted if you were able to attend.

The interactive workshop will explore the following key issues:

  • Identifying the barriers to legal support
  • Raising awareness of domestic violence issues

Morning tea will be provided. Please RSVP by 24 May to CanberraMCBD@deloitte.com.au with any dietary requirements.

Background papers regarding the key legal issues facing Canberra women, as well as the summary from the last workshop are available for download below and attendees are encouraged to read these.
