Beijing +20 Caravan for young women

The Equality Rights Alliance is hosting a Beijing +20 Caravan for young women in order to discuss current issues and challenges facing women in Australia.  The responses from this Caravan will form part of the Australian Civil Society 20 year review of the Beijing Platform for Action (BPFA), coordinated by JERA International.

2015 marks the fourth review of the Beijing Platform for Action and the twentieth year of its existence as a major blueprint to advance women’s rights. A review of the BPFA is the focus for the next United Nation’s Commission on the Status of Women (CSW).  This is a great opportunity for young women in the ACT region to meet other women in their local area, discuss the issues and challenges they face, and contribute to the Civil Society review which forms part of the BPFA review process.

Please RSVP through the Facebook event, or by contacting Alyssa Shaw at era.admin@ywca.org.au.

For more information on the Beijing +20 Review and the Caravans, please visit the JERA International website. If you are unable to attend the Caravan, or wish to participate individually, JERA International has also created an online survey, which can be accessed on the JERA website.
