Audrey Fagan women’s leadership program 2018

The ACT Office for Women in partnership with the Australian Institute of Company Directors, invite you to attend the Audrey Fagan Women’s Leadership Program. This series of workshops is for women considering becoming a Board and/or Committee Member or Director of a Board or Committee.

There are three complementary workshops to be held in August 2018.  You can attend one or all of the workshops. Bookings must be made as places are limited. Certificates of completion to these accredited courses will be given. There is no cost for workshops.

Workshop 1:    In the Board Room: Responsibilities and Practice
 
This course will examine the separate roles of the board, directors and management, as well as the composition and structure of the board. Participants revise why the separation of management and control contributes to good corporate governance and therefore the long term viability of organisations.

Workshop 2:   Introduction to Financial Information for Directors 
 
Introduction to Financial Statements for Directors will provide a straightforward introduction to financial statements from the director’s perspective. Participants will explore the three key financial statements: the balance sheet, income (profit and loss) statement and the cash flow statement; and discover how directors use these to monitor financial performance. The session also examines the financial aspects of directors’ statutory duties.

Workshop 3:  Introduction to the Strategic Role of the Director/Developing your Director Career and further networking opportunities with AICD
 
Through Introduction to the Strategic Role of the Director, participants will develop an understanding of the role strategic planning plays in the long-term financial health and wealth creation of their organisation. Participants will develop the skills required to discuss and evaluate the formulation and monitoring of organisational strategy.
