An App for fixing world poverty? Harnessing technology for development

One Just World is an Australia-wide series of free, Q & A style forums creating conversation and debate around poverty and development issues we face as a global community. Since 2008, over 60 thought-provoking forums with panels of experts and civilians have engaged in discussion about these issues.

This forum, "An App for fixing world poverty? Harnessing technology for development" will address the emergence of new programs and uses of technology which are starting to change the way development is viewed.

Speakers include:

  • Samantha Barry - BBC journalist, media trainer and technology consultant
  • Sharon Bhagwan Rolls - Coordinator of fem'Link Pacific Community Media Initiatives for Women, and Fijian Political Activist
  • Mark Kelly - Senior Director of Operations, World Vision South Asia and Pacific Regional Office
  • Jacqueline Maley (Moderator) - Parliamentary Sketch Writer for the Sydney Morning Herald, and freelance journalist
