All about women 2014: Festival of ideas at the Opera House

 

A jampacked day of presentations, panels, film screenings and lectures - All About Women.

14 sessions featuring over 20 speakers including two documentary films.

 

Features include:

  • I am a girl - a feature-length documentary following the rise of nine girls from around the world through the power of education and learning (film screening and panel).
  • Egypt, the Arab world & the war on women - by Mona Eltahawy, Egyptian-American journalist, essayist and commentator based in New York City.
  • Pictures of You: how women appear in media - Alison Bechdel, Jane Caro and Mona Eltahawy ask, in the online age, how do media shape our views of women, and how can we change the way women appear in media?
