The 2014 International Women’s Day Luncheon

The International Women’s Day Luncheon is the annual signature event for The Australian National Committee for UN Women.

The Australian National Committee for UN Women’s fundraising focus this International Women’s Day is Ending Poverty for Women and Girls through Economic Empowerment.

Globally 70% of the poor are women; women are far more likely to live in poverty because of discrimination and lack of access to education, employment and financial access. Although women perform two-thirds of the world’s work, they earn less than 10% of the world’s wages.

The luncheon will feature MC Virginia Haussegger, ABC TV News Presenter (Canberra) and a panel of distinguished guests to lead the discussion on how we can continue the fight to end poverty for women and children in 2014.

All funds raised will go to the Gender Equality Fund; directly to economic empowerment projects that help lift women and girls in our region, out of poverty. It will provide education, and paid work opportunities and help to give hope for the future.

Tickets can be purchased for Corporate tables or individuals. If you are unable to attend but would still like to support the event you can purchase a virtual ticket.

Tickets can be purchased via ticketbooth.

Please note: seat allocations are made at the time of ticket purchase.
