Marginalisation and Impunity - Violence Against Women and Girls in the Chittagong Hill Tract
Gender Institute member Bina D’Costa has a new publication entitled 'Marginalisation and Impunity - Violence Against Women and Girls in the Chittagong Hill Tracts', which was prepared for Rashida Manjoo, UN Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women and presented at the 13th Session of the United National Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues in New York. This report examines selected cases of violence against women and girls in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) in 2011 and 2012. It also discusses relevant legal contexts and, based on four key principles, provides recommendations to the government and civil society to address violence against women and girls in the region.
More information about this publication and a digital copy of the report can be found here.
