5th national elder abuse conference

Monday 28 August 2017

The Program Sub-Committee of the 5th National Elder Abuse Conference invites researchers in the field of gender and ageing to submit abstracts for their upcoming conference Together Making Change that will be held in Sydney on February 19 and 20, 2018.

Click here to submit your abstract.

The Conference will have four concurrent themes – Legal, Health, Social, Policy – that explore the complexities of elder abuse. The social and cultural changes necessary to prevent elder abuse will happen with long-term, multi-faceted, culture-wide approaches. Academics and researchers, community members, policy makers and government agencies, public servants, those with lived experience, service providers, and community workers who have contact with older people, will come together in a vibrant and robust exchange of ideas, solutions and responses to elder abuse.

Elder abuse affects all aspects of people’s lives, and involves many service and support sectors. Abstracts might address more than one theme to reflect the complexity of elder abuse and potential responses. We are particularly interested in innovative, collaborative and evidence-based responses.

Please note that the closing date for Abstract Submission is 1 September 2017.

All enquiries regarding abstracts for the 2018 TMC Conference can be emailed to the 2018 TMC Conference Secretariat on info@togethermakingchange.com.
