ANU values diversity and inclusion and is committed to ensuring equality of opportunity for all staff. The Diversity & Workforce Planning Branch promotes a working environment valuing diversity and inclusion with a commitment to ensuring equality of opportunity for all ANU staff.
The unit can provide information on relevant policies and procedures and run a range of programs and awareness raising activities. The unit also co-ordinates networks such as the Diversity Network and Indigenous Staff Network.
A key priority is addressing the low representation of women at ANU, which is most apparent in research-intensive and senior roles. The Gender Institute and the Workplace Diversity and Workforce Planning unit works closely together to raise awareness of gender issues in the workplace and implement programs to support the attraction and retention of female staff at ANU.
