Women's Legal Centre ACT seeking principal solicitor

The Women’s Legal Centre is seeking an experienced and innovative family lawyer to fill the role of Principal Solicitor on a three-year contract.

Job description:

You will be joining the Centre at a time of unprecedented change and opportunity. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will play a crucial leadership role in shaping the future direction of the Centre.

You will be responsible for managing the Women’s Legal Centre’s legal practice to ensure services are effective, responsive and compliant with laws and regulations governing the legal profession. You will also undertake and supervise significant and complex casework within areas of law prioritised by the Centre.

We have received funding to establish a new specialist domestic violence unit and you will play a key role in developing and managing the new unit as well as shaping the general legal practice and building pro bono relationships.

Please note, applicants must be eligible for an unrestricted practising certificate in the Australian Capital Territory. Applications close Wednesday 20 January 2016.
