She Leads - leadership training course for young women presented by Canberra YWCA

In June this year the YWCA of Canberra will launch the new transformative leadership course, She Leads. She Leads draws on best practise to address the unique challenges facing young women at the early stages of their career and equip them with the skills and confidence to take on leadership roles in their workplace and community.

Despite the significant and growing body of evidence that organisations with higher percentages of women in their leadership perform better, women are still locked out of decision making, and leadership and management roles in all industries in Australia remain male-dominated.

Improving women’s leadership opportunities is fundamental to strengthening gender equality. The YWCA of Canberra is at the forefront of promoting the leadership of young women and supporting them to develop the skills and confidence to take on leadership roles in their workplace and community.

She Leads provides students with the opportunity to obtain a Diploma of Management while learning from experts and distinguished leaders in each field of study.

To enrol or for more information go to www.ywca-canberra.org.au or contact Alison Barclay on 6175 9900 or alison.barclay@ywca-canberra.org.au.

This course will be launched on Monday 17 June 2013 at She Leads Women’s Leadership Forum.
