It has been the practice since 1984 for Federal Governments to produce a Women’s Budget Statement as one element of the official Budget Papers. In 2014 this practice ceased and the National Foundation for Australian Women, a non-politically aligned feminist organisation, in conjunction with experts from a range of women’s organisations, took up the task of analysing the implications of the Budget through a gender lens. This year's budget report is now available for download below and provides a complete overview of the impacts of policies on men and women. Professor Miranda Stewart, a member of the ANU Gender Institute and the Director of the Tax and Transfer Policy Institute, Crawford School was one of the experts involved in preparing the report. You can read more about the report here on the Tax and Transfer Policy Institute's website.
