Muscling Up: Australian men, sexualisation and body image enhancement

An opportunity exists for a researcher with expertise in the areas of gender and sexuality studies to conduct qualitative research in men's health, male sexualities and male body image-enhancing practices. Familiarity with poststructuralist approaches, queer theories, and contemporary masculinity scholarship would be an advantage.

The new 2.5 year, Level A position will work primarily on a new ARC Discovery-funded project “Muscling Up: Australian men, sexualisation and body image enhancement”. The Investigators are Professor Gary Dowsett, Dr Duane Duncan and Dr Steven Angelides. The project is based at the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society at La Trobe University, Melbourne.
