The golden age of female philosophy

Gender Institute Management Committee member, and former convenor, Associate Professor Fiona Jenkins from the School of Philosophy, was a guest this week on a special International Women's Day episode of The Philosopher's Zone on Radio National. She was joined by Dr Rachael Wiseman from the Department of Philosophy, University of Durham and distinguished British philosopher Mary Midgley. Midgely lived and worked through a period she has termed the ‘golden age of female philosophy’, during WWII. As the number of women in Philosophy remains low, they discuss what can be learned from this 'golden age'.
