Dr Coral Bell AO honoured with the naming of the Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs

As of Wednesday 4th February the School of International Political and Strategic Studies in the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific will be renamed in honour of Dr Coral Bell AO as the Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs. Described as Australia’s most distinguished analyst of contemporary international politics, Dr Coral Bell AO (1923-2012) was an internationally renowned scholar with a close connection to the Departments and Centres within the School. The change was launched by Australian Foreign Minister the Hon Julie Bishop MP. ANU Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Young AO said that Coral Bell, who was awarded her Order of Australia in 2005, embodied everything the school and its work stood for.
