The Research To Impact Team at the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), headquartered in Indonesia, is now planning to review their gender research portfolio. Between now and December they will design and implement a realist evaluation of CIFOR's gender specific and gender integrated research. They are seeking Masters level students to work with them to participate in the design and conduct the analysis of context, mechanism and outcome configurations across their gender portfolio.
CIFOR’s research is clustered thematically (forest and food security, climate change, value chains, finance and investment etc) and conducts both gender specific and gender integrated research across all research themes. Forestry has come late to the idea that gender is an important lens through which to analyze problems, develop options and assess results. CIFOR has made significant efforts to improve their gender focus in the last several years, but there is still progress to be made.
CIFOR has a formal research fellowship program (see below) and they would be happy to work with students beyond December, which is a hard project reporting deadline, to produce publications and dissemination of research.
