Australian Book Review is offering the ABR Gender Fellowship – an addition to their highly successful Fellowship program. With support from Emeritus Professor Anne Edwards AO, a former Vice-Chancellor of Flinders University and a long-time ABR Patron and board member, they are seeking proposals for a substantial article on gender in contemporary Australian creative writing in all its forms.
Applications for the ABR Gender Fellowship are now open to any Australian writer with a publication record (print or online). The Fellow’s article will appear in the print magazine and ABR Online. The ABR Gender Fellowship is worth $7,500. Applications close 1 February 2017.
Please see their website for application guidelines for the ABR Gender Fellowship and a brief statement by Anne Edwards as well as additional information about the ABR Fellowship program. Anne Edwards, Andrea Goldsmith, and Peter Rose will select the Fellow.
ABR Fellowships are intended to reward outstanding Australian writers, to enhance ABR through the publication of major works of literary journalism, and to advance the magazine’s commitment to critical debate. You can find out more about the program on their website including information about current Fellowship opportunities and past ABR Fellows.
Editor Peter Rose encourages prospective applicants to contact him on (03) 9699 8822 or firstname.lastname@example.org prior to submitting their application so he can give them more information about the Fellowships and also a candid sense of the suitability of their project for this particular Fellowship.
