ACT Women’s Advisory Council calls for new members

Nominations are being sought for membership of the 2019-2020 ACT Ministerial Advisory Council on Women.

The council plays a key role in advising the Minister for Women on issues of importance to women in the ACT, and assists with work to improve the status of women in our community. Individuals across varied age groups, diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of community and occupational expertise make up the council. Members are selected predominately for their expertise and experience in issues affecting women. The work of the council reflects the objectives of the ACT Women’s Plan and will monitor the progress of achievements towards these objectives through consultation with women in the community and relevant organisations.

Nominees for membership should have a sound knowledge of the interests and concerns of ACT women, and an ability to consult and represent on a wide range of issues. Nominations are invited from individuals and representatives of women’s organisations and peak bodies in the ACT who are able to demonstrate commitment to the advancement of women. Nominations close 19 October 2018. Further information can be obtained from the ACT Office for Women online at or at, or by phoning 6205 1075.
